Amanda MacGregor has drawn on more than a decade of lived experience to write her new self-published book, How Is This My Life? Everything I Wish I Knew About Depression, Acceptance and Finding Happiness in Unexpected Places.
Amanda began writing the book during the depths of her own depression and continued throughout the decade that followed as she navigated recovery, self-discovery and what it means to create a happy, meaningful life.
Describing it as the book she wishes she had when she was struggling, Amanda hopes that sharing her experiences will help others feel less alone and offer hope that recovery is possible.
Lived experience at the heart of the book
How Is This My Life? combines memoir with personal reflections and practical guidance for people navigating depression, anxiety or overwhelm.
Through sharing her own experiences, Amanda explores depression and recovery alongside themes of acceptance, self-compassion and finding happiness in unexpected places.
“Part memoir, part reflective journal and part guide… Amanda gently guides the reader through understanding the depths of depression and instils hope for recovery.”
