As a peak body organisation, we empower, represent, and support a vibrant network of peer-led groups throughout the State, fostering healthy, connected communities.
Peer support groups bring together individuals who share a common condition or experience to offer emotional and practical support to one another. By sharing lived experiences, peer support enhances health and wellbeing, promotes community inclusion, and highlights the power of mutual support. No two experiences are the same, but it’s through what is shared, what is alike, that we find comfort in connection.
Alike WA acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Western Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We further acknowledge the traditional carers of the land upon which our office stands, the Whadjuk Noongar people, and pay our respect to them and their cultures; and to Elders past, present, and emerging.
Alike WA acknowledges all those with lived experience, including families, carers and friends. We acknowledge the individual and collective contributions of those with a lived and living experience that is shared with Alike and in respective support groups. We acknowledge that we can only support healthy and connected communities by supporting those with lived experience.
