The Neurological Council of WA (NCWA) is inviting current and former carers in the Pilbara to its free From Carer to Career workshops this September.
The workshops will help carers recognise the skills they have developed through caring and explore how those skills can translate into employment, training, volunteering or community leadership.
Participants will work through practical activities to identify transferable skills, explore local pathways and build confidence in talking about their experience. There will also be opportunities to connect with other carers and learn about opportunities in community care, peer support and respite services.
Who can attend?
The workshops are open to family carers, parents, kinship carers, Aboriginal carers and people supporting someone with disability, chronic illness or age-related needs.
Attendance is free and lunch is included.
